Jean-Clement set the all-important colour grade creating the awe inspiring filmic look. Initially, a flatter grade was set to avoid compromising the post, the contrast was further pushed after the post was complete. A print look up table was applied to enhance the filmic feel. The main challenge was maintaining the unity of sequence whilst giving each room – or part of the sequence – a particular look to give the illusion of separate spaces. ‘Although part of the same sequence, each set up has a slightly different colour hue. The yellows and reds needed specialist attention as they had to be kept consistent within the context of each room. Avoiding multi passes was important to simplify the VFX work’ explains Jean-Clement.
