I particularlly love massive attack, i have always been a fun of trip hop and it came as a surprise to hear them raw as they used to be. the art work of the cover is quite good, tripy as it should be and it sounds great all the way true.
With their fifth album, trip-hop pioneers Massive Attack return to their roots, delivering a brooding song cycle with contributions from Damon Albarn, Hope Sandoval, and TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe.
Other guests on the album include Elbow frontman Guy Garvey, Martina Topley-Bird, and longtime collaborator Horace Andy. Additionally, Heligoland marks the return of original member Grant “Daddy G” Marshall to the fold, helping the group re-discover the energy that made 1997’s Mezzanine a high-water mark for its field.
To further indulge the multimedia tendencies that have seen the band involved in a number of cross-disciplinary projects over the years, the duo commissioned a number of short films to complement the record, four of which have already been released — including the X-rated promo for “Paradise Circus,” documenting the story of 1970s porn star Georgina Spelvin.
Visit Massive Attack’s official website, check them out on MySpace, read a history of Robert “3D” Del Naja’s creative collabs, keep up with the Heliogoland films in the Massive Attack Tweatre, and buy the album.
